Sony XCG-SX99E - High Speed Camera

Sony is expanding its high-performance XCG GigE camera line-up with the addition of a new high speed (27 fps at full resolution 1,360 x 1,024), IR sensitive model – the XCG-SX99E. This new model incorporates a 2/3” CCD and features SXGA resolution.

The XCG-SX99E camera is ideally suited for machine vision, security (IR wavelength coverage) and intelligent traffic applications (ALPR – automatic license plate recognition). All the cameras in the XCG Series incorporate the GigE Vision interface which is specifically standardized for machine vision applications based on Gigabit Ethernet technology.

The XCG Series now consists of five models:

  • NEW! XCG-SX99E – 2/3-type PS CCD, SXGA resolution at 27 fps
  • XCG-V60E - 1/3-type PS CCD, VGA resolution at 90 fps
  • XCG-SX97E- 2/3-type PS CCD, SXGA resolution at 16 fps
  • XCG-U100E – 1/1.8-type PS CCD, UXGA resolution at 15 fps
  • XCG-5005E – 2/3-type PS CCD, 5 Mega Pixel at 15 fps

With the growing demand for large scale systems, the GigE interface enables the cameras to transfer a large amount of data over long distances. The use of an Ethernet cable and availability of a wide variety of peripheral devices contribute to significant cost-cutting benefits when designing a complete vision system. Moreover, by incorporating a packet re-send mechanism, the XCG Series can securely transmit data to the host computer.
