The GY-HM100 and GY-HM700 series cameras are the world’s first professional high definition cameras to utilize SDHC solid state memory. SDHC media provides affordable storage for ENG/EFP production with running costs similar to professional videotape. Recording at 35Mbs on a 16GB SDHC card provides 58 minutes of record time. Typically a 16GB SDHC card will cost $28 or $0.48 per minute. With running cost per minute this low it’s possible for producers to archive footage on the original SDHC card recorded in the camera.

JVC understanding the needs of broadcasters and producers developed an exclusive media management system for SDHC cards. The system is composed of two elements. First a ProHD Media Sleeve and second a secure storage vault to organize and protect precious original footage.

The ProHD Media Sleeve is made of static resistant polypropylene and holds up to 3 SDHC media cards securely cards. The ProHD Media Sleeve comes with 2 preprinted 3x5 cards that include necessary shooting details. on one side and a standard 3x5 index card on the other for writing a complete description of shots held on the
